Jason Atherton

Only in his early 40s, the native Brit heads his own gastronomic empire. The star-crowned restaurants Pollen Street Social and Social Eating House are part of it, as well as trend restaurants in London, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore and as of 2015 in Dubai, Sydney and New York. It is his clear desire to reinterpret traditional dishes that distinguishes the Chef of the Year. Jason Atherton’s version of classic ‘Bacon and Eggs’, for instance, is made of succulent, crisp, beech wood smoked duck ham and crunchy French fries prepared in duck fat with truffles. Among other things, Jason Atherton completed his training in 1998 at the elBulli, and from 2001 to 2011 he was the chef de cuisine at Gordon Ramsay’s Maze.
