The first weekend in March is reserved for the ladies, both professional and amateur, who are invited to take part in the 17 km (10.5 miles) long, traditional women's cross-country ski race from Samedan to S-chanf.

Magnificent scenery, a unique test of stamina, and the satisfaction of having achieved something: the Engadin Ski Marathon has been held on the second Sunday in March every year since 1969.
